National Socioeconomic Impact Assessment of COVID-19 on PNG

The National Socio-Economic Impact Assessment of COVID-19 in Papua New Guinea focuses on households and the Private sector including small and medium-size enterprises.

To Households and partners in the private sector! We need your inputs on the impacts of COVID-19 in Papua New Guinea. It takes only 7 minutes.

The United Nations in Papua New Guinea is conducting a National Socio-Economic Impact Assessment (SEIA) of COVID-19 in Papua New Guinea. Led by the United Nations Development Programme, the survey will inform government, development partners, and private sectorto focus on policies and programme to support the most vulnerable and disadvantaged segments of society to help minimize the social and economic fall out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are two set of questions, private sector and households. While the private sector survey targets any type of company/firm, the household survey is targeted for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged segments of the population.

You can also fill out the hard copies of the private sector and household questionnaires. Send completed questions to maranatha.letuan@undp.org and shaddie.tapo@one.un.org by 22th  May 2020. Hardcopies can also be delivered to UN House Reception, Level 14, Kina Bank Haus, Port Moresby.

A report will be prepared following the survey and discussed with Government, Partners and and Private Sector. Based on the assessment, specific and targeted strategic interventions can be designed accompanying the Government’s Economic Stimulus Package to support a quick rebound and recovery.
